“Watch Out Now. He Gets His Money From Da Asians.”

Without ever mentioning a word about race, the tone of most of the recent articles paints a racialized portrait of Asian Americans as corrupt, behind-the-scenes, foreign-serving donors who make illegal campaign contributions.
I disagree. I’ve read those stories and I don’t see that at all. I don’t see these articles in particular nor reporting on a group of Americans of Asian ancestry overall gives the effect that is claimed above.
While there are Asian Americans who do break campaign-finance laws, we don’t hear very much about other groups and individuals who do the same thing.
Oh, I’d love to see an analysis over the last few years of news stories reporting campaign-finance laws. This is a pretty specific claim; let’s see the authors justify it with actual facts.
Nor do we hear of the many Asian Americans who through the voting process and their political contributions hope to have a very significant and legitimate voice in the political process of the United States.
Nor do we hear of the many Americans of non-Asian heritage who have done this. Newspapers and other media generally don’t print good news – it’s an old story. “If it bleeds, it leads.” The author seems reasonably articulate; let them write one themselves and try to sell it.
