   No disrespect to Charles Brubaker, but may I suggest omitting his second sentence in the interest of avoiding a spoiler?

   I’m struck by the fact that this Asian (Japanese?) film uses English words in signs, but not in the credits. What’s the thinking behind that?

   I think it impedes comments too much if we forbid spoilers in the comments. I did add a spoiler warning to the bottom of the post, however.

   The film was made in Taiwan, according to the information at Youtube.

   If the film is set in an English-speaking place, then it makes sense that the signs are in English, even if the dialogue and credits are in another language.

   Actually a lot of Asian countries use English signs. It would not be uncommon, for instance, to walk around Japan and see the words “Market” or “Bakery” around.

   Wow, this was absolutely beautiful.. very touching. Loved it through and through, and congrats to the film-makers!
