Mandolin’s story “Fields of Gold,” which is sadly not available online but was published in this year’s Eclipse anthology, has been nominated for a Nebula award, in the “Novelette” category.

As I’m sure you’ll recall, last year Mandolin won a Nebula for her novella “The Lady Who Plucked Red Flowers beneath the Queen’s Window,” making her one of the youngest ever Nebula winners.

So cool. Congratulations! I was at a local con today and was DYING to get into a conversation with someone about the Nebulas so I could casually mention being acquainted with you. But it never happened.
“Do you know where the restroom is? By the way, you know who else I know who sometimes uses restrooms?”
That would be artificial and forced. If there’s one thing I want my pathetic name-dropping in a quest for reflected glory to be, it’s organic and spontaneous. I spent hours trying to set up something organic and spontaneous, but was foiled at every turn.
I blame the liberal media.

I think “MSM” refers to Fox as much as it does CNNBCBSABC. It’s all biased, mostly liberal/statist but (see Fox) not all.
