   So sad, his stories in Heavy Metal were my introduction to his work, I can imagine him flying into a sunset on the back of some faithful prehistoric bird.

   I was 10 years old in 1984 when I discovered his drawings, we had his strips in my parents collection, now I am 37 and I still love his work, one great artist, I also see him on the back of some ‘deepo’ like bird flying in to the unknown.

   Those are beautiful, by the way.

   I’m no expert, and unfortunately Marvel (his English language publisher, at least in the US) has let his books go out of print, so it’s all very expensive. But The Airtight Garage seems to be the one most often recommended, and you could see if the library has it.

   My impression — and this is just my experience, others may disagree — is that Moebius is an artist who is better for the art and the way he designed environments and worlds, than for the stories or writing per se.
