“Populous” = large population. “Populace” = the people.

Because the Earth revolves around the Sun, the al-Qaeda terrorists were able to hijack planes and navigate them to their intended targets. Therefore heliocentric science enables terrorists. Not only that, it’s against God and the Bible according to the pseudo-Christians running the GOP.

In fact, women are made from men’s ribs, when God said “Thou shalt not kill” he didn’t mean Arabs, and the Rapture will only include good Christians who hate and judge others the most stridently.

Oh, and gravity is the result of devils tugging on our ankles and evolution is guided by unnamed aliens.

    Science class dismissed!

No, their names are Frank and Alice. Nice folks, but stay away from Frank when he’s been drinking. A little too quick with the anal probe, if you know what I mean.

    Fixed.

LOL! That explains the weirdness of all my past science teachers.

The anti-foreign sentiment of this administration is ridiculous. My former Philipino colleague being denied entrance to the U.S. for a job a the school where he got his Ph.D. for upwards of 8 months. A skilled worker with a job contract, a degree from a reputable U.S. institution, and application for a green card should not be held up for 8 months for a background investigation. My Malaysian coworker recently went back to visit his parents; he hopes he will not have difficulty reentering the country. Everyone I know knows a foreigner who has had difficulty getting back into the U.S. even after short trips abroad to “friendly” nations.

Our research group works on developing new fuel cell, battery, and bone replacement materials. Under some proposed regulations, a background check and special visa could be required for our (many) foreign students to use basic equipment that is vital to our research and is not associated with building bombs or developing biological weapons. This administration seems to think using critical thought or scientific skills == enabling terrorism. It’s a damn shame.
