We actually have a policy letter prohibiting us from disclosing the contents of policy letters—–buuut…as far as KBR having the best housing–ya gotta remember that we are specifically prohibited from ‘doing’ unless the mil/gov approve it. When we did, we were accused of overcharging and frivolous spending. And fyi…i wouldnt consider 50% of our employees living 4 to 6 men per 80 square foot room on bunk beds as very enticing.

better housing/port o crappers/any facilities—is it possible?–EASILY–are we allowed to do it…nope. trust me when I say that the company wants to build and provide every single thing possible. Reason is this: every activity gets put on paper and is billed to the Gov’t. Even unclogging a tiolet is a chargable item and the company cant make money if its not providing all the small stuff.

But, yea–the company does blow a little.

I hvae lots of memories of KBR (Halliburton’s subsidiary in Iraq) and few of them are good. There’s the crappy housing they slapped together for the soldiers. There’s the way they complained when they had to actually, you know, work—this was after the murders of the four contractors in Fallujah, after the Easter uprising, after a battalion convoyed all night to beat back the uprising. Three soldiers who had been on the way home were refused permission to use KBR’s internet connection to let their families know why they weren’t h ome yet. Oh, yeah,there’s that, too—-Internet only for KBR. They reserved the best accomodations for themselves, and when they found themselves confronted with actual work, they started demanding anal paperwork. With hundreds of soldiers using one porta potty, they refused to set up more until someone put in a formalrequest for more. The line crossed the parking lot.

I could go on,but this hit a nerve. They’re crooked everywhere.
