Does Whatever A Spider Can!
| August 30th, 2005Monday baby blogging is a day late this week… sorry, I was really busy all day today.

Trust me, if you had one of these “baby” thingys around the house all the time, you’d be doing dumb things with it too.

No worries, we had a bank holiday here so everything’s a day late.

Nella, see the post titled “Live Comment Preview is Back!”
Amp, that is a great picture but it is only ONE picture which is not enough to feed the habit of anyone suffering Sydney addiction.

Pshaw, that ain’t even that dumb. Kids love ceilings. They’re utterly, absolutely out of reach — even Daddy can’t touch it! So they love it when someone will hold you up high enough to touch it and see what it feels like…

There’s an infamous photo of my dad and me when I was less than a year old. We’re in the backyard and he’s holding me upside down by my ankles, similar to the way a fisherman would show off a prize catch. My mom finds it embarrassing to this day, but Dad and I think it’s cute.

I think I took my younger child sledding for the first time when he was three months old or so. Just for something to do. And we have a picture of him wearing a half-knitted hat with the metal needles sticking out of it. Brain Transfer Baby!

Aw! Baby clingage!
I can’t wait to have one that small again. My two year old just crossed forty pounds.

Baby things, that’s great!! Do you really post every Monday? I guess I could check for myself, but it just doesn’t seem like we get an every week Syd blog! How is Syd’s pregnant mommy doing?

It’s not every Monday, I’m afraid; it’s more like every Monday that I happen to get things together enough to post a Sydney picture or picture series. But you can see all the past pictures on this page.
Syd’s pregnant mommy is doing fine, although I think I’m detecting a little bit of the “okay, enough already” stage of pregnancy beginning to show up. I might be wrong about that, though - perhaps Kim will comment herself.

Cool photos, Robert, by the way - very cute. Soon she’ll be a bank robber in the old cinematic West. Syd doesn’t have a horse but she does have a toy giraffe big enough for her to sit on, so she gets by.

Yep, I’m at that ‘been there, done that, wish it was 6 weeks from now’ stage in the pregnancy. On the bright side, the doctor said that after next week, the baby is pretty much considered ‘full term’, so if I were to have her, she’d likely be in fine health with good strong lungs. That’s an ‘in the clear’ that gave me many a warm fuzzy. Maddox, btw, is said to be very long like Sydney & Matt (my husband) - I believe it too, considering for the past month she’s been kicking under my ribs, while at the same time spanning the full extent of my torso. We still haven’t figured out a middle name for her yet, so that’s this month’s project, along with trying to go through things to clear up more room for another go at doing the newborn thing. My biggest apprehensions right now is how Sydney is going to react to all of this. Her love of other children and babies inclines me to believe she’ll do well, but we’ve been stressing on figuring out ways to make sure that the transition is a fun and happy time for Sydney.
Robert, cute kiddo. And yes, Sydney has a giraffe that she rides, but no horse just yet. The giraffe’s name is Smooches, and she’s pretty docile.

I don’t know what the riding stable situation is out in fogland, but here they do 15-minute pony rides for $10; 15 minutes is about as much quivering joy as a 3-year old can take. Let’s see some pony shots!

The pumpkin patch that we go to in the fall has pony rides - but will totally depend on how I’m feeling as to whether or not we end up going. We’d have to go 8 days after a c-section, and I’m not sure how up to it I’ll be. Ya never know, might get some Syd on a pony picts though.

Ampersand, you trickster. That baby cannot cling to ceiling or walls, you are just trying to mask her TRUE superpower by posting the picture upside down. I speculate that she has actually super-strength and the hands belong to an acrobat standing on his/her hands, lifted in air by the super-strong Sydney.
