Monday Baby Blogging - Maddox is Tiny, Sydney is Manipulative
| October 31st, 2005
A studio pic of Maddox in her Dad’s arms. So tiny!

More pictures of Syndey in the hospital when Maddox was born… here she is on her mother’s hospital bed, pandering to the masses by being outrageously cute.

Pander, pander, pander…

Here she is noticing my camera and deciding she wants to play with it…

As Sydney gets older (she turns two next month), she’s definitely getting more manipulative - and she understands that I’m a total sucker. This is the expression she turned on when I wouldn’t give the camera to her.

The maddox photo is beautiful.
I love the juxtaposition of the last two photos. The switch in facial expressions is wonderful. And you clearly are the meanest person on earth.

Hmm. An illuminating illustration about society, gender, and expectations: Up until now I’d thought Maddox was a boy, because I heard (well, read, whatever) the name Maddox and mentally went “boy’s name! therefore boy!” and easily missed any references to the contrary by virtue of the fact that I am, as previously indicated, not a baby person. However, I will make up for this by questioning any future assumptions my brain makes as regards to names and gender, and also by showing this to a friend of mine who IS a baby person, and she will see Maddox and go “Awww” and coo at the computer screen for awhile.
Beautiful picture, by the way. Both the artist and the materials (that would be the photographer, and Maddox & her Dad, respectively) are excellent. (I may not be a baby person, but I am an art person.)

That’s a goodie! Mine uses the same expression, for the same reasons. Works like a charm on Grandpa, doesn’t faze “the Meanest Mama Ever” (something Grandpa taught her—-the same guy who would tell me to “get a job” if I wanted something at that age!)
Maddox is one serious cutie pie. Just like her big sis!
