Christmas Song Repaired

Posted by Ampersand | December 22nd, 2005

Phil just called and sang me this - “the advantage of hanging out with children,” he said. I’ve never heard this one before.

Dashing through the snow
On a pair of broken skis
Down the hill we go
Crashing into trees (ow! ow! ow!)
The snow is turning red
I think I’m almost dead
That’s why I’m in this hospital
With a pole stuck in my head!

Bill O’Reilly’s gonna get them!

Oh, it’s all right, I guess, but it’s not up there with Bucky Katt’s version:

    Jingle presents
    Beat the pheasants
    Reindeer tastes like Spam
    Kick the elf
    Engorge yourself
    And ambush Santa’s van !!

I tried to teach my four-year-old the “Jingle bells, Batman smells” version before the Christmas concert, but unfortunately his enunciation is so bad that nobody could have possibly told what he was singing.

    Get Fuzzy is beautiful.

It’s like what Garfield would be if it were funny.
    And topical.
    And well-drawn.

    And not Garfield.

Myca, forward that post to Darby Conley and see if he’ll use it on his next book cover. Also, demand an autographed mug as reward.

    That’s perfect, LOL

I owned Bucky once, swear it’s true.

One I remember though I haven’ t the faintest idea of its attribution:
(jingle bells as the mad xmas shopper:)

    dashing through the aisles
    snarling as you go
    if someone’s in your way
    shove the so and so!

If there’s more to that one and anyone knows it, post!

  11. Myca Writes:

    *grin*

Hell, Alsis, he can use it for free.

I mean, really, it would be worth it just to see the quote attributed to: “some random guy on a blog somewhere.”

    “Jingle Coins
    Jingle Coins
    Jingle in the till
Oh what fun it is to spend
And to call it all goodwill ! Hey !

    Jingle Coins
    Jingle Coins
    Jingle in the bank
Christ came to save the Winter slump
For that we can give thanks !

    The trinkets in our line
    Are mostly from Hong Kong
    Where there’s no overtime
And no one says it’s wrong
    The labor there is plentiful
    And practically free
    Producing little ornaments
To dangle from your tree ! Hey !… ”

May be the funniest 2 lines ever.
