If you’re in New York City…
| June 23rd, 2006Occasional “Alas” comment-writer Richard Jeffrey Newman will be the featured reader tomorrow (Saturday) night at an open mic poetry reading. Richard’s a pretty impressive fellow, so if you’re in NYC you should probably check it out. Details at Richard’s blog.
Oh, and I’ll be in New York City myself next month - probably around July 28th, give or take a couple of days. While I’m in town, I’d love to have dinner with any interested NYC “Alas” readers. (Also, if anyone can put me up on their sofa for the night…!) I’ll mention this again when we’re closer to the date, but please leave a comment if you think you’d attend such a dinner.

If I remember correctly, you may find yourself in the upstate area as well (i.e. Ithaca) around then. If that’s still the case, let me know.

First, Amp, thanks for the plug, and I’d love to have dinner when you’re here. Let’s see if it works out.

Dinner in NYC would be grand, Barry - it’d be lovely to see you again! With any luck maybe I’ll actually be working in The City again by that point…

I’d be very interested in dinner. If you haven’t already got offers, my partner and I may well have a free guest room, as well.

I’d be interested in a dinner with you. I’ve been reading Alas for about a year now.

Damn, I’m sorry I’ll be out of the city in July, would have loved to meet you! If you ever come back (or if you come to Greece sometime before September), let me know…

I’m afraid the couch at Casa Galt is not big enough to sleep anyone over the age of eight comfortably, but please sign me up for the dinner.

[...] As I mentioned earlier, I’ll be visiting New York City and I’d love to have dinner with “Alas” readers while I’m there! And it gets better - “Alas” co-blogger Rachel (also of Rachel’s Tavern) will be attending the dinner, as well! [...]
