I’m confused. (Honestly confused, not rhetorically-confused-to-get-you-to-say-something-dumb-so-I-can-nail-you-for-it confused.)
From what I can see, there is an uprising against the Mexican government. This being Mexico, it’s kind of a laid back uprising, but still. So the Feds sent in troops to re-assert their authority. There’s been violence as a result of that, unsurprisingly.
What’s the big deal here? Is there a special “indigenous Marxists don’t have to respect the law” clause of the Mexican constitution that I didn’t get told about? Or what?

Actually the first law-breaking was by the state government, and the revolt was aimed at removing the governor. Violence started when vigilantes (apparently consisting of off-duty pols and police) shot and killed unarmed people last week. Of course I know there is a a special invisible clause of every government constitution that says that the government doesnt have to respect the law, and often means regular lowly police and politicians dont’ either, I’m opposed to that. As a result I support the original strike and the subsequent uprising.

Yes, Robert the 16 people killed so far in Oaxaca were so laid back that they forgot to get out of the way of the bullets and clubs. And poor Brad Will standing there filming his own murder, he should have ducked. And now we have the little pinche whiners complaining that the Oaxacan insurgents are breaking the law. Boo-fuckin-hoo.
