8.5″ by 11″, 100 pages, 190 cartoons, $16.
I’m still figuring out how many to print, so let me know if you think you’ll buy a copy. :-)

I’m in.
I’d rather have a PDF version, though, than a paper one. I’d be willing to pay the same price.

Great cover! I’ve been living below the poverty line since this stupid war began and I intend to continue that until it is over, so it’s hard to commit to buying new books, but I just wanted to say it looks grand.
Also, if you haven’t already checked out lulu.com, you might want to, but it’s true that you will get better repro quality if you stay away from POD technology.

(Know where I could get an autographed copy?)

Now that you mention it, the main reason I’m not going the Lulu POD route is so I can autograph books for people who want, or do a doodle for people who want, or a sketch for people who want to pay extra. :-P

Ooooh . . . how much would a sketch be?

I haven’t thought about it, to tell you the truth. Does ten bucks sound fair? What would people find reasonable to pay?
It would be drawn in pencil or black marker on one of the blank pages at the start of the book, and be along the general lines (in terms of quality and size — this is about seven inches tall — of course they wouldn’t all be this same character!) of the sketch shown on the right.
I could do easy general requests for characters for no extra charge (i.e., “I’d like the character to be Black, to be female, to have some sort of tattoo,” or stuff like that) or a to-be-negotiated extra for hard requests (”covered in head-to-toe tattoos standing in front of the Supreme Court”).
I don’t really have anything else to say, but the image on the right will be screwed up unless I fill up a big block of text to make this comment longer. So: yadda yadda yadda. George Bush eats boogers! Hilary Clinton is a big doofus! Cheney is an alien! Blah blah blah! Okay, that ought to be enough.

Will you do Buffy-Warren slash sketches?
Eww, I just squicked myself.

Too rich for my blood. For that kind of scratch I could probably get Sarah Michelle Gellar and Adam Busch to make out and let me watch.
Eww, I did it AGAIN!

Laugh! Wow, okay, I’d missed your post with the sketch until just now, Amp! That’s awesome! I’ll buy at least 1 with a sketch, and maybe 2.

Well hell — if Michel Moore’s getting one, that cynches it. Sign me up for a sketch. You take checks signed in pseudonym, right?
Oh, all right, PayPal then. Have mouse/will click. Say where and when.

I’ll have further info sometime in October, when I actually have the books in hand to sell.

Waiting until you have a product to sell before you sell it? That is SOOOO last century.
Sell call options on the book. If you sell enough, you outsource the actual production of the book to cartoonists overseas drawing pencil sketches with lead-based … er … leads (?). If you don’t sell enough, you pocket the advance money, file bankruptcy, and then get hired as a CEO of a cartooning syndicate based on your demonstrated “experience and expertise.” I mean, duh.
Mark my works, Amp: If you persist with this say-what-you-do, do-what-you-say habit of yours, you’ll end up living in some group home on the west cost somewhere, overrun with little kids. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I’m definitely interested in buying a copy, and my boyfriend works for Barnes and Noble and says that if I give him the ISBN number (and you publish it in a way such that this is possible), he’ll fast-track it to his store and make sure it gets well displayed. He can’t promise anything huge, but better treatment than otherwise, certainly.
Oh! And I’d probably buy a signed/sketched version for myself. The B&N takes both kinds, though you obviously wouldn’t be able to personalize anything in the signing/sketch department, but they’ve got special stickers for it and everything.

Thanks, Mal!
I haven’t decided if I’m going to get an ISBN or not. I’ll let you know when I do, though! In either case, that’s very sweet of your boyfriend to offer.
