Aruni Kashyap blogs on the recent repression by the Indian government on the people of India:

Manoj Deka’s brutal murder by Asam police in the name of counter insurgency operation holds multiple shocking implications about current politics in Assam. Manoj Deka was a senior leader of the Communist Party of India, Assam and held the post of the Morigaon district CPI General Secretary.

It’s really pretty horrible, and I encourage you to post a different section of the original post so folks can see how nasty is was.

I have become sort of jaded by claims of “brutal murder*” but this is just appalling

Summary: police accost guy on street, beat him up, and he dies. Nasty stuff.

*sorry to have to say it , but “murder” on a blog can mean anything from, well, murder, on to pretty much any killing of someone that the author likes. This is surely the former.
