How To Use Blockquotes

Step one: Highlight and copy the text you want to quote.

Step two: Type <blockquote>

Step three: Paste your sentence after <blockquote>. So what you’ve typed now looks like this:

<blockquote>This is an example sentence.

Step four: Type </blockquote>. (Notice the backslash - it’s essential!) So what you’ve typed now looks like this:

<blockquote>This is an example sentence.</blockquote>

That’s it! When it appears online, it’ll look like this:

This is an example sentence.

One more thing. This doesn’t matter everywhere, but when posting on "Alas, a Blog" you should leave a blank line before the <blockquote> and after the </blockquote>. This will make it look better. Trust me on this one.
